Our Story

Why did we move from the city to the country and start a farm?

We have been married for over 10 years and have been unsuccessful in having children, despite our desire. LeAnn was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) and started researching this disease and diets that can affect fertility.  Additionally, Mack started to educate LeAnn on Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO’s), along with the pesticides and chemicals that are added to our food in conventional farming. We explored USDA Organic certified products and what that really means to the food we take in. We slowly started to incorporate organic products into our diet and noticed small changes to our bodies. LeAnn was losing weight in a natural way (so far over 60 lbs!), her monthly cycles became regular (something that never happened due to PCOS), and her IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) has been almost completely absent. Throughout this slow change, we realized that we wanted more of a natural diet; we wanted our food to be more of what God intended it to be. However, it was a really expensive lifestyle that we were trying to adapt to. At the same time, Mack was working in an environment that was unhealthy for him physically and emotionally. We got to a point where we had enough of all of it: the expensive cost, the detriment to our bodies of the conventional diet, and Mack’s job. So, we packed up our home, bought a house in the country on 20 acres, moved out there, and then Mack quit his job and became a full-time farmer. We believe in the organic-way of farming and living, enough to completely change our location and vocation.
